This is used internally for auto-PIX queries, but the functionality is also available explicitly.
it is a static class with only a few methods, as all the associated configuration information (including the details of the PIX Manager) is held within the XdsDomain object, which is passed to the methods.
Results are cached, in order to reduce the need to multiple queries
