    Remarks

    The default value of this property is derived from the IgnorePrivateSequences value of the internal registry, which in turn has a default value of 0, causing this property to be false.

    Badly formed data in private sequences is unfortunately very common, and setting this property can allow some such data (if it has an explicit length) to be ignored, allowing the remainder of a dataset to be read.
